Senior Data Scientist

Machine Learning, Predictive Modelling, Azure, Fabric & Synapse

Location: Hybrid (London-based office)
Salary: Competitive + 10% Bonus + 27% Civil Service Pension

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and optimize automated reporting pipelines, ensuring high performance and quality assurance.
  2. Build and deploy predictive models, enhancing customer behaviour forecasting and operational insights.
  3. Maintain and further develop pricing analytics models and web applications for internal stakeholders.
  4. Drive segmentation modelling projects, improving customer targeting and personalization strategies.
  5. Develop and refine data pipelines and ETL processes, enabling efficient data integration into Azure Synapse & Fabric.
  6. Play a key role in cloud migration projects, supporting the organization's transition to Azure-based analytics.
  7. Lead data discovery projects to onboard and analyze new data sources, helping shape our future data landscape.
  8. Champion coding best practices, version control, and testing within the data science team.
  9. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment with business goals.

What We're Looking For

  1. Strong experience in machine learning, statistical methods, and predictive modelling.
  2. Expertise in programming with Python or R, including optimization, modularization, and best practices.
  3. Hands-on experience with SQL and working with relational databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
  4. Exposure to Azure Data Services, Fabric, Synapse, or related cloud technologies is highly desirable.
  5. Proven ability to create interactive data visualizations using tools like Plotly/Dash, Shiny, Tableau, or Power BI.
  6. Experience in developing web applications for data insights using JavaScript, CSS, or similar frameworks is a plus.
  7. Knowledge of Generative AI and experience using LLMs in data workflows.
  8. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, translating complex findings into actionable insights.
  9. Degree in a numerate or statistical discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, etc.).
