Senior Data Privacy and Risk Manager

Salary: National £80,000 / London £90,000

A bit about the job:

This role involves providing 2nd line oversight and challenge to the Aviva Group Business, specifically focusing on data governance, data privacy, and emerging data risk exposures. You will identify opportunities to enhance data risk management across Aviva, both in day-to-day operations and during change and transformation activities. Additionally, you will oversee the data management frameworks (including data governance and privacy) and the associated data strategy.

Your support will be crucial in establishing a robust Data Risk Management landscape, ensuring Aviva meets its business objectives. You will lead with a strong risk perspective, aiding management in understanding, assessing, and managing their data risks and key controls. This will facilitate better business decisions and promote positive customer outcomes.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Possesses extensive experience and knowledge of data governance and privacy processes, controls, and risks.
  • Familiarity with operational risk practices is beneficial, though not mandatory.
  • Capable of identifying emerging trends and potential risks to the business by connecting various pieces of information.
  • Demonstrates strong written and visual communication skills, with the ability to challenge ideas at all levels and stand out confidently.
  • Skilled in diving deep to identify risks and opportunities, including experience in challenging senior stakeholders.

  • Starting salary £80,000 for national-based roles or £90,000 for London-based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
