Hybrid working between home and our London office (EC2A 2AP)

Full Time, Permanent

Monday - Friday / 9am - 5:30pm / 37.5 hours per week

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that shapes the future of data privacy?

We are looking for a Senior Data Privacy Advisor who will be pivotal in ensuring that Acacium Group adheres to global data protection laws and best practices. This role is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of a robust global privacy framework that not only tracks compliance with legislative requirements, but also enhances the organisation’s reputation by driving excellence in data privacy. Providing practical guidance on strategic projects and day-to-day operations, this position manages risks associated with data handling, ultimately fostering transparency and trust among clients and stakeholders. The Senior Data Privacy Advisor will promote a culture of compliance through training and awareness, ensuring that every team and colleague understands the importance of data privacy.

You will add significant value to the organisation by safeguarding data, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and minimising the risk of data breaches. This role enhances organisational efficiency through the development of standardised privacy documentation and training programmes, thereby fostering a proactive approach to data protection. Effective management of data rights requests and incidents will contribute to a positive customer experience and will build confidence in Acacium Group’s commitment to privacy.

Every day you will…

  • Develop and maintain a Global Privacy Compliance Framework which ensures privacy practices align with global legislative requirements and that compliance is tracked, documented and a data risk register is maintained.
  • Provide practical and impactful guidance on strategic projects as well as day to day advice in a timely and accurate manner, escalating material risk as appropriate helping the business to make informed decisions that align with legal requirements and organisational goals.
  • Support the creation and continuous improvement of essential privacy documents (i.e. ROPAs, DPIAs, Privacy Notices, Retention Schedules, Policies etc.) thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing the risk of non-compliance and breaches.
  • Promote best practice by developing and monitoring training: encouraging and fostering a culture of compliance and creating and conducting regular data protection and marketing training sessions including to data protection champions to raise awareness of responsibilities and data handling.
  • Maintain an up to date central log of data subjects rights requests ensuring accurate and prompt handling of requests from individuals regarding their data rights to ensure we remain compliant with the legislation and will ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Lead and/or take part in audits and compliance checks to identify areas for improvement and ensure best practices and manage any necessary action plans in order to continuously improve and enhance privacy practices.
  • Manage and resolve data incidents and complaints including investigating, responding, assessing and lodging notifications to the relevant data authority within the required deadlines and implementing remediation measures.
  • Instruct and review advice from external legal counsel to ensure it aligns with Acacium Group’s data protection needs.

To thrive in this role, you must have..

  • CIPP/E or equivalent with at least 5 years PQE.
  • Deep knowledge of data privacy laws/regulations enabling the effective application of these laws in daily operations and strategic projects with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, enabling the analysis of complex situations with a focus on solutions.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering training programmes that foster a culture of compliance, adapting content to meet varying needs through effective communication.
  • An ability to analyse complex data privacy issues and provide practical solutions, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation in a timely manner.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and that all aspects of data privacy compliance are addressed with high levels of accuracy in all documentation, processing, tracking and recording.
  • Demonstrable skills in managing relationships with senior stakeholders and providing pragmatic advice and creative solutions with confidence, offering sound, on-the-spot privacy advice that applies expert knowledge.
