Aegon have an exciting opportunity for an experienced data professional with a mathematical / statistical / Data Science background to join our Analytics team.

Whilst sitting within our centralised Analytics team, this role will focus on working closely with our Marketing team to support Mylo, a new permanent cross-functional customer value stream, using targeted marketing to maximise the value of our existing customer base. Mylo will help us get a deeper understanding of our customers, by interpreting insight and data to help us build campaigns and marketing funnels which results in a deep and meaningful relationship with Aegon. We need someone to support the Mylo team through the provision of data, analytics and insight to help them achieve their goal of assisting our existing workplace customers maximise their savings.

We are seeking an experienced data analyst / budding data scientist with a passion for analysis who is looking for the opportunity to drive impact through analytics, champion data culture, and pioneer the use of data science within an exciting new value-stream. As the Analytics team business partner for Mylo, you'll need to have a solid foundation of skills including data analysis, data transformation and stakeholder management, plus an interest in developing and employing data science skills as Mylo matures from its initial launch early next year.

As the sole analytics representative working on the Mylo value stream, you'll have a broad range of responsibilities including:

• Managing the extraction, manipulation and processing of core customer demographic, financial and event data required by the Mylo value-stream from a variety of data sources across Aegon.
• Answering business questions with insightful data analysis and statistics.
• Consulting with development teams to ensure appropriate data flows are designed, built and maintained.
• Working closely with the campaign manager to target, measure and optimise campaign activities.
• Developing and managing the reporting of key marketing metrics such as conversion and email engagement to guide the optimization of customer journeys.
• Designing and building engaging and intuitive data visualisation frameworks / dashboards.
• Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations.
• Building and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders in Finance and Technology teams to ensure key systems infrastructure and support are developed and maintained and that requisite regular data flows for analysis are in place.
• Championing a culture of data-driven decision making within a new value-stream as the primary data analyst.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Strong numeracy skills, a genuine interest in data and analysis, plus strong analytical, creative problem solving and data visualisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentational skills. Plus, the ability to relate complex technical concepts and data in a simple and understandable manner and make recommendations where appropriate.
• Mathematics skills and an understanding of statistics.
• A commercial mind and strong problem-solving skills - the ability to take the initiative when faced with new challenges, new tools and systems.
• Experience of:
• Working closely with business areas to understand analytical needs and deliver high quality insight.
• Sourcing, collating, manipulating and interrogating large datasets from disparate sources to prepare analytical insight for presentation to key business stakeholders through tools such as SAS or SQL.
• Data visualisation in tools such as Tableau, AWS QuickSight or Adobe Analytics to design and deliver dashboards.
• Managing small to medium-sized data and analytical projects and acting as an analytics representative on larger scale business projects.
• Designing and applying statistical tests to determine the impact of actions.

Additional Desirable Experience and Skills includes:

• Experience of analytics within a direct to customer marketing environment.
• Experience with the AWS tech stack, e.g. Athena, QuickSight, SageMaker.
• Data Science experience such as developing and implementing machine learning and predictive modelling, especially in the context of targeting marketing activity.
• Programming experience is beneficial, particularly Python or R.
