You will work to solve complex technical problems, making technical design decisions, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
You will drive continuous improvement in practices and ways of working to improve efficiency, security and stakeholder outcomes.
You will support development and drive the execution of delivery roadmaps and projects in the networks security domain.
What you'll do -- Develop and implement Network security tools, processes and solutions that meet all legal requirements as well as industry best practices.
- Support the creation of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and controls for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all organisational data assets.
- Where required, support incident response activities including investigation; containment; eradication; recovery; reporting; follow up actions; root cause analysis etc.
- Work with third party vendors providing network security services.
- Support risk assessment initiatives by identifying risks associated with new technologies or processes prior to implementation within the Organisation's environment.
- Support compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to information security (e.g., GDPR, PCI, TSA).
- Create reports on cyber security metrics for senior management review on a regular basis.
- Stay abreast of current trends in cybersecurity technology and recommend solutions that can improve overall system protection levels.
What you'll bring- Experience in the design, deployment and support of enterprise-scale security solutions.
- Knowledge of operating systems internals, hardening, and monitoring - including but not limited to common network device types such as firewalls, load balancers, switches, routers etc.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP network fundamentals.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (shell, python) and/or automation tooling is a plus.
- Experience of Network Security Detection, Prevention and Monitoring technologies such as IDS/IPS, WAF/anti-DDoS, NAC, SIG, VPN, Certificate managers etc.
- Experience of other common cyber security technologies and concepts such as EDR, AV, Vulnerability scanning, threat intelligence, encryption/cryptography and others.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and senior stakeholders.
- Relevant security certifications such as OSCP, ISC2 CISSP, SANS, CEH, etc. are a plus.
- Ability to carefully document your work so others in the team can easily understand and build upon it.
- Experience and track record in working collaboratively as part of teams to achieve goals, whilst delivering shared organisational objectives.
