Senior Customer Insight Researcher in London, United Kingdom

Reporting into the Principal, Customer & Market Research, the Senior Customer Insight Researcher is part of the wider Risk & Research Proposition team, helping deliver the key customer and market insights the various stakeholder teams need to drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Undertake customer and market research covering end-to-end propositions design, from market analysis to working directly with C&MR team members to support business and proposition leaders on business case development.
  2. Assist the C&MR team to represent the voice of the customer at senior leadership level to ensure that customer and market intelligence is at the heart of decision-making on a day-to-day basis.
  3. Develop strong working relationships within the C&MR team and other functions at all levels across the business to deliver tailored and relevant insights.
  4. Deliver customer and market research projects, from actively participating in briefing sessions, to research design, through to execution, such as customer recruitment, managing fieldwork, reporting fieldwork and project progress, performing QA, undertaking analysis and reporting.
  5. Undertake ‘desk’ research in a thorough way and ensure insights are appropriately synthesized.
  6. Liaise with external partners, such as research agencies or research tool providers, to ensure work/services delivered are world-class and delivering value for money for Dow Jones.
  7. Support the Customer & Market Research team lead with workflow/load planning and budget management.

Attributes & Experience

  1. Ability to learn quickly, solve problems creatively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies alongside their appropriate use.
  3. Experience of performing ‘desk’ research and obtaining relevant insights using publicly available information and news sources.
  4. Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing business priorities and requirements.
  5. Proven track record of getting results in a matrix organization.
  6. Solid experience of customer and market research including project management and delivering credible and actionable insights.
  7. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with attention to detail.
  8. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  9. Strong presentation skills, passion for storytelling, and the ability to make complex data easy to understand.
  10. Proficiency with Google’s suite products (Google Sheets, Google Slides).
  11. Experience in the market research industry, in-house or agency-side.
  12. Experience of conducting research and managing research teams in B2B markets, ideally within the media, news, information & data sectors.
