The Role:

We are seeking a highly driven Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our dynamic Risk Analytics team. In this role, you play a pivotal role in shaping and refining credit risk strategies across customer acquisition and account management. Leveraging advanced data analytics, statistical modelling and industry best practices, you will drive smarter credit risk decisioning, enhance portfolio performance and support sustainable business growth while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and continuously enhance credit risk strategies across scorecards, policy rules, pricing, limits management and affordability models to optimise risk-reward outcomes.
  • Conduct in-depth exploratory analysis using diverse data sources across various client segments to identify trends, assess risk exposure and generate actionable insights.
  • Optimise credit risk decisioning through advanced analytics and statistical techniques, ensuring lending strategies are within the agreed risk appetite.
  • Perform regular portfolio performance reviews and health checks, identifying emerging trends and key risk indicators while recommending proactive mitigation strategies in monthly committees.
  • Develop and maintain robust credit risk MI and reporting frameworks to support strategic decision making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure risk strategies align with broader commercial objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, fostering a data-driven and risk-aware culture within the team.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience in a credit risk analytics role, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in SAS, SQL or Python for data analysis and modelling.
  • Hands on experience with credit risk strategy development, credit scoring and decision analytics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree in quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and data visualisation tools is a plus.
