Job description

You will leverage your deep knowledge of asset finance to structure and approve credit applications, provide second-line oversight on asset valuation, and contribute to recession readiness frameworks. This role offers the opportunity to influence the development of the asset finance portfolio. Extensive experience in credit risk sanctioning within the asset finance field is required, along with considerable stakeholder management skills.

To be successful as a Senior Credit Risk Manager – Asset Finance, you should have experience with:

  1. Extensive knowledge and experience in credit risk sanctioning within the asset finance field.
  2. Proven experience in sanctioning credit for SMEs and mid-corporates.
  3. Skilled in credit risk structuring and sanctioning across various industry sectors within the SME portfolio.
  4. Effective credit assessment and decision-making for Business Banking customers and strategic asset finance partners.
  5. Experience in asset valuation.
  6. Experience in asset-specific depreciation curve modeling, analysis, and maintenance.
  7. Expertise in overseeing and challenging asset realisation strategies and valuation methodologies.

This role can be located from our Manchester, Redbrook, or Northampton office.

Purpose of the role

To assess and approve/decline credit applications based on established credit policies, risk appetite, and regulatory requirement and analysing financial information, evaluating creditworthiness, and recommending credit terms and conditions to ensure responsible lending practices.

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of lending applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess the borrower's creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
  • Monitoring the performance of approved lending, identifying potential risks and early warning signs of delinquency.
  • Evaluation of the risk profile of each application considering factors like industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions.
  • Provision of independent credit decisions on lending applications, adhering to established credit policies, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements.
  • Development and implementation of appropriate course of action for troubled lending, including workout plans, restructuring, or collections.
