Senior Counsel - Legal Operations

About the company:

A leading multinational within industry is looking to appoint a Senior Counsel - Legal Operations. This exciting role reports into the Group General Counsel. The business is looking for a Senior Counsel - Legal Operations to provide support across the legal and legal technology functions. The role is based in London.

About the role:

• Provide support to assist in the implementation of legal operations and initiatives for the global legal team, including assisting GC to support in compliance, mergers, and acquisitions (M&A) and litigation.
• Leverage legal tech technologies to optimize operations, enhance productivity, and drive strategic decision-making for legal function.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leadership, and stakeholders to identify and prioritize legal tech opportunities that drive business growth and competitive advantage.
• Data analysis and reporting - Compile and analyze legal department metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Digitalization of Legal practices including managing the digitalization of current legal practices to address the complexities of new regulations, including the implementation of legal tech tools.
• Build and maintain relationships with external legal tech partners, research institutions, and industry thought leaders to stay abreast of legal tech trends, opportunities, and best practices.

About you:

Ideally, you will have experience of legal functions, legal technology and project management working within industries including but not limited to mining, engineering manufacturing, energy, or construction.

The position requires strong experience in various areas of business law, in particular a strong understanding of legal terminology, processes, and documentation. Expertise in leveraging legal tech for data-driven decision-making and business process optimization is desirable. As well as experience of developing and executing legal tech strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
