Job description

Are you an experienced professional with a background in law, construction or quantity surveying? Are you highly skilled in contract management and experienced in negotiation and risk management? Vestas is looking for a Senior Contract Manager to join a collaborative team that works across logistics, procurement, finance, sales, and legal departments to deliver top-notch wind farms that maximize energy yield and meet client expectations.

Region NCE > Customer Project Execution > Contract Management Offshore, North & West

The Customer Project Execution Department oversees all wind farm projects from inception to completion. Once a contract is signed, the team takes full responsibility for the project until the final tests are completed. Collaborating closely with the logistics, procurement, and finance departments, the team ensures the project stays on budget and on schedule while meeting our safety and quality standards. Additionally, the team works with the sales and legal departments to ensure each wind farm delivers the highest energy yield according to the client's specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the commercial and contractual aspects of the construction phase.
  • Reviewing, advising, and supporting internal stakeholders on obligations and deliverables under Turbine Supply Agreements.
  • Ensuring adherence to internal processes and procedures for correspondence and record-keeping.
  • Facilitating the project risk management process, including maintaining the project risk register.
  • Evaluating potential claim scenarios and providing recommendations to stakeholders and management.
  • Managing claims activities and drafting formal claims-related correspondence.
  • Attending internal and external meetings and supporting the sales phase with ad-hoc commercial and contractual advice.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in law, construction, quantity surveying, or engineering, with substantial involvement and skills in contract management.
  • In-depth experience with contract law.
  • Proficient in negotiation tactics and planning.
  • Thorough understanding of risk management principles and procedures.
  • Skilled in handling conflicts and dispute resolution.
  • Displays a logical and structured framework in approach.
  • Proficient in managing internal stakeholders and relationships.
  • Clear awareness of cost and safety considerations.
  • Team-focused, innovative, and aware of diverse perspectives.
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.

Additional information

Primary work location: Warrington or anywhere in the UK. This position requires up to 60 days travel per year.
