We are looking for a Senior Contract Accountant to join our dynamic finance team at Compass Group UK & I. In this role, you will play a key part in driving business performance through effective financial analysis, stakeholder collaboration, and commercial decision-making.

Salary: £35,300 per annum + Benefits

What You’ll Be Doing

Commercial & Financial Support

  • Business partnering with financial and non-financial stakeholders to drive performance.
  • Attending site and client meetings, providing key financial insights.
  • Delivering proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • Managing financial risks and opportunities within contracts and ongoing business performance.
  • Ensuring balance sheet integrity by identifying key risks and opportunities.

Performance & Reporting

  • Preparing month-end reports, business reviews, budgets, and cash analysis.
  • Training operational teams to interpret and improve their financial performance.
  • Conducting monthly balance sheet reviews, escalating key risks and opportunities.
  • Driving working capital improvements through timely, accurate billing and debt ledger management.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting by consolidating reports, analyzing variances, and preparing senior-level presentations.
  • Assisting with client tenders, contract negotiations, and capital expenditure appraisals.
  • Ensuring smooth contract mobilisations, supporting operational teams with required financial actions.
  • Upholding the health and safety of all colleagues and reporting any incidents via approved processes.

Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Collaborating effectively within a high-performing finance team.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to finance training programs.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Actively studying towards CIMA (Strategic Level), ACCA (Strategic Professional Modules), or ACA.
  • Strong experience in management accounting, including accounting adjustments and commercial decision support.
  • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
  • Experience in business partnering non-financial professionals, delivering clear financial insights.

Desirable:

  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Knowledge of Excel Macros and VBA.
  • Experience using SAP and Cognos for financial reporting and analysis.
