SLR have a fantastic opportunity for an ESG specialist to join our industry-leading Corporate Sustainability team in a Senior Consultant role.

Our consultants work within client project teams with responsibilities including project delivery, business development, and client management. We have consultants working at all levels with our clients and have a focus on developing our people to take on more senior roles as they grow their skills, knowledge and experience.

You will have a key role developing and delivering our work across our service areas, including: sustainability strategy and materiality, reporting and disclosure (to ESG indices, ratings and frameworks) and social and community impact. Client focus, curiosity, strong analytical and communication skills, and good time management are essential for all our roles.

The role will be based in our central London office with the opportunity for hybrid working, however, could occasionally involve travel within the UK and internationally on assignment.

In the Corporate Sustainability team we are unified by a deep passion to make a positive impact for people and the planet, driven by a collective vision of working towards a just society in a sustainable world, harnessing the power of business.

Our work is varied, interesting and constantly evolving. No two days are ever the same as we deliver great work with our clients and challenge them to go further. Our work covers a huge range of interrelated topics: from supplier management to community investment, from climate change to corporate governance, from human rights to investor relations.

We work hard to ensure SLR is a collaborative, inclusive, and flexible working environment, where employees are supported and given the opportunity to grow and develop to achieve their potential.

The Role

  1. Understanding and interpreting client needs, clearly communicating client goals to internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Researching, preparing and delivering client content.
  3. Co-ordinating work across multiple projects (sometimes managing small projects) ensuring milestones and action items are met within agreed timelines.
  4. Drafting proposals for small to medium sized projects that involved familiar work.
  5. Keep abreast of ESG landscape regulatory requirements and best practices.

About us

SLR are global leaders in Sustainability Solutions, helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals. We are a consultancy with over 4,000 employees across 6 regions in over 125 countries. Our ‘one team’ culture is at the heart of our business, providing a collaborative and supportive environment for professional development.

Along with competitive salaries, our staff enjoy a comprehensive benefits package with a company pension plus excellent healthcare offering, travel and life insurance and a structured career framework with regular reviews offering outstanding opportunities for progression. Alongside 25 days' annual leave, with additional flexible bank holidays, we offer flexible, agile and hybrid working which enables staff to tailor hours worked around core hours, with family friendly policies help balance the needs of professional and home life.

About You

We are looking for someone with demonstrable business and consulting experience, including proven knowledge and experience in corporate sustainable responsibility, as well as:

  1. Curious and unafraid to challenge conventional wisdom.
  2. Business and client focused.
  3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients.
  4. Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills.
  5. Exceptional analytical skills to distil quantitative and qualitative data.
  6. Solid time management and project management skills.

We welcome applications from all individuals, regardless of their background, including those from groups that are currently under-represented at SLR, such as people identifying as 2SLGBTQI+, Indigenous peoples, ethnic minority groups, women, and people with visible or invisible disabilities, including those who are neurodivergent.
