Senior Conservation Architect job in Manchester

Hunter Dunning is now representing an exclusive Senior Conservation Architect job, based in Manchester city centre. Within this role you will be working on some of the most high-profile heritage and conservation projects in the Northwest, across all RIBA stages.

This practice partners with public bodies, charities, developers, and private clients to shape some of the UK’s most iconic buildings and spaces. From sensitive restoration to bold contemporary design in historic settings, their work spans cultural landmarks, master planning, education, hospitality, and more. Renowned for blending heritage with innovation, they create spaces that honour the past while embracing the future.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. To join a dedicated team to work on and deliver heritage and conservation schemes across all RIBA stages in Manchester
  2. Lead teams and collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring thoughtful, high-quality results
  3. Play a key role in mentoring, strategy, and securing new projects and being involved in new business development and winning work for the studio
  4. Work within a team and support Senior Associates on each project.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. You must hold an AABC or RIBA SCA/CA accreditation
  2. 10+ years’ experience post Part III
  3. Ideally, you will experience developing new businesses and winning work however this is not essential
  4. You will have built a network of trusted contacts within the industry from public bodies to contractors
  5. IHBC or SPAB is also desirable but not essential
  6. Throughout your career, you will have experience working on historical heritage projects
  7. Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is essential
  8. Experience managing projects across all stages and small to medium-sized teams.
