Work from home up to 4 days a week with 1 day a week in Stratford-upon-Avon, Bristol or York + approximately 1 day a month in Stratford-upon-Avon as the main team location.
NFU Mutual's Large Corporate Insurance Department manages our largest and most complex corporate risks, with premiums over £100k. They oversee £200 million in GWPI, underwriting Property, Liability, and Motor Fleet risks to drive sustainable, long-term profitable growth and we're pleased to share this exciting new opportunity as an Underwriter.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of existing clients and quotations, serving as the lead underwriter. You will review and evaluate insurance risks, proposing and negotiating policy terms for corporate business in line with NFU Mutual's underwriting principles and standards.
Your work will ensure fair outcomes and exceptional customer service, aligned with the company's risk appetite and financial goals. You will build and maintain strong relationships with team members, agents, brokers, and clients, ensuring objectives are met and service levels are maintained.
You'll train, coach, mentor and guide team members and provide technical support to various stakeholders across the business and support Change to shape the department and its processes, looking to continuously improve the efficiency of our operations. You'll also be responsible for delivering short-term and one-off projects and activities. Additionally, you will handle policy cancellations, resolve complaints, and provide agents and brokers with support during client meetings to enhance customer value and uphold NFU Mutual's reputation.
You'll be a Commercial Underwriting professional with extensive underwriting experience in Motor Fleet risks gained within the UK general insurance market. This could be from an insurer or broker environment.
You'll be a resilient individual and able to demonstrate effective communication skills which will enable you to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, with the ability and confidence to challenge and influence where necessary.
