Job Description:

Do you have experience training commercial teams within the aviation sector? Do you have excellent communication skills and experience of developing technical course content and materials and can you demonstrate an ability to utilise various teaching techniques, procedures, and methods successfully? Are you ready for your next challenge making a difference in an ever-growing, global organisation? If so, apply now as we are looking for a Senior Commercial Training Specialist for our US team. You will be part of the Group Talent Function and be responsible for ensuring that all commercial team members, both new and existing, are provided with industry-leading commercial training and development, via the Air Partner Commercial Academy curriculum.

You will work with a team of training experts and with key commercial business stakeholders to create and implement a range of training solutions, covering a commercial induction and mandatory training, product training, Air Partner sales skills and process training, negotiation skills, systems, relationship management skills and selected behavioural / soft skills training.

In addition, you will ensure annual training needs analysis - TNAs - are in place and that they are being actively completed by all team members, with new and refresher training provided as required.

Please note that this position can be worked remotely, although you must live in and have the right to work in the US and be willing and able to travel to our offices in Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, and New York frequently.

You will:

  1. Assist with the recruitment, pre and onboarding program for new commercial hires across all levels of experience.
  2. Develop tools to evaluate the technical capabilities of our employees, determining overall effectiveness of programs and making improvements as necessary.
  3. Develop the technical training curriculum for the Air Partner Commercial Academy, using modern and innovative training methods, including classroom, 121, experiential, coaching and mentoring, and e-learning methods.
  4. Conduct training needs assessments, collecting and collating key information on employee skills and performance to bridge gaps.
  5. Work with the Senior Application Support Specialist to ensure CRM / Booking Tool systems training is provided and addresses trainee requirements.
  6. Ensure training records are maintained.
  7. Keep ahead of the latest thinking in the L&D, sales space to ensure that the Commercial Academy curriculum is kept relevant and up to date.
  8. Ensure trainee feedback is recorded and relevant actions are taken to improve the Commercial Training offering.
  9. Work with the other members of the Commercial Training Team, L&D Specialist and wider HR and business teams to benefit the training experience and outcomes.
  10. Work with nominated third parties, as identified by the curriculum.
  11. Support recruitment and selection as appropriate.

What we are looking for:

You will have direct commercial training experience in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment and an aircraft charter broking background would be a distinct advantage. In addition, you will be very organised, patient and have a strong interest in mentoring and developing others to be their most successful self. You will also:

  1. Have at least 2 years experience training commercial teams within the aviation sector; charter aviation preferred.
  2. Have a solid background in developing and delivering sales skills / approaches.
  3. Be able to demonstrate an ability to utilize various teaching techniques, procedures, and methods.
  4. Have experience with developing technical course content and materials.
  5. Have exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage others with a range of learning styles.
  6. Have a qualification in a relevant subject and training certification.
  7. Have strong working knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems - CRMs - and Booking Platforms.
  8. Have proven development and mentoring experience.
  9. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  11. Have experience with MS Office and database software.
  12. Have outstanding leadership and motivation skills.
  13. Be organised and be able to adapt quickly.
  14. Have good analytical skills.
