We are currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Technology Strategist to help us realise our Cloud Transformation strategy and disrupt the status-quo! This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly skilled and motivated team with a growth mindset!
As a Senior Cloud Technology Strategist, joining the Cloud Strategy, Architecture and Transformation team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and pressure testing the Cloud Strategy as well as helping drive its implementation. You will also own long and short term cloud technology roadmaps. In addition, you will have a significant focus on understanding and evaluating (both the technical and business aspects of) emerging/existing technologies that have the potential to transform or disrupt the market, or that could be significant catalysts in achieving our organizational objectives.
You will provide technical expertise and technical leadership across a number of verticals (e.g. Cloud, Entertainment, IT, Connectivity, Mobile, Ventures) for a variety of cloud technologies and services. You will help shape end-to-end cloud architectures in a complex, large-scale landscape, across a number of domains, including large-scale customer facing media delivery, Connectivity (Cable modems, Mobile), IT systems, Edge Computing and Network Virtualisation.
You will have expert domain knowledge of the latest cloud offerings, business models, technologies and the commercial and technical advantages these enable. Your inquisitive mindset will be key when evaluating emerging and cutting edge technologies.

Location and travel.
This role is quite flexible around location, with home working most of the time. There will be team meetings in our UK or NL offices (dependent on which is your closest location). This is currently once or twice a fortnight. Some occasional travel will also be involved.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and maintain the organizational cloud strategy.
- Develop and maintain the cloud technology roadmaps.
- Evaluate (from a technical and business perspective – financial, functional, operating & business model) emerging/existing technologies that have the potential to transform or disrupt the market, or act as significant catalysts in achieving organizational objectives.
- Provide expert cloud consultancy services to application owners and markets, creating strategy and architecture steers where applicable.
- Define cloud strategy & technology principles, standards, guidelines, and reference models, for adoption across the business.
- Support the cloud architecture function by providing strategy and architecture steers as well as technical roadmaps.
- Lead and support business case development, cloud migration and adoption initiatives.
- Work with teams within and outside the organisation, to identify potential cloud transformation opportunities and build TCO business cases enabling their journey to cloud.
- Support discussions regarding potential partnership opportunities with CSPs, demonstrating their potential value through analysis.
- Work with Product teams to validate product roadmap vs technology roadmap.
- Work with ventures team and Innovations team to conceive and drive related trials and proof of concepts where necessary.
- Recruit external subject matter expertise as required to support technology or corporate strategy assessments.
- Deliver technology strategy insights to relevant stakeholders to help them understand technology options available to support them in their mid to long term planning.
- Help build a collaborative and transparent culture of continuous improvement, within the team and across domains, while mentoring junior team members.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Deep knowledge of cloud and edge architectures, technologies, orchestration models, operating models, business models, equipment & software functionalities across traditional and emerging vendors.
- A solid understand of cloud and data centre economics. Significant experience analysing the TCO, ROI and business value of migrating on-premise workloads into public cloud.
- Extensive experience in a Cloud Technology Strategist, Cloud Architect (GCP or AWS) or similar role, in a large enterprise, ideally within a hybrid cloud environment.
- A solid understanding of cloud architecture & technologies (GCP or AWS), including governance pillars, core cloud services.
- A solid understanding of integrating enterprise / on-premise platforms with public cloud (including connectivity aspects).
- Extensive experience of Cloud Native, DevOps patterns and operating models.
- Experience with Edge computing and NFV/CNF, ideally in a mobile or fixed line context.
- A solid understanding of cloud data analytics technologies and capabilities.
- A solid understanding of network overlay technologies.
- Proven technical leadership capabilities, a coaching / collaborative style of working.
- Ability to present information tailored to a diverse range of stakeholders (e.g. technical, finance, executive).
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Experience in a Telco environment.
- A good understanding of blockchain technologies, use cases (e.g. decentralized compute) and ecosystem.
- Programming / software development experience.
