Job overviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Psychologist to join EPUT's perinatal psychological services for mothers, birthing people and their infants. The Perinatal Mental Health Service (PMHS) provides high quality maternal mental health and wellbeing support and intervention to mothers, birthing people and their infants across Essex.
PMHS are pleased to offer an 18 month Fixed Term contract for a 0.6wte 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist post. PMHS consists of five perinatal hubs across Essex, with a staff mix comprising of Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology and specialist roles such as nursery nursing, social work and OT. PMHS works with a range of services to support a mother's emotional wellbeing including maternity and health visiting, primary and secondary care mental health services. PMHS aims to provide streamlined, timely and effective care for mothers and birthing people in the perinatal period. This post will be in South East Locality (Southend, Castlepoint & Rochford). There are opportunities to shape a role to meet part time and flexible working arrangements.
Main duties of the job- Providing specialist assessment and intervention to mothers and birthing people who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties in the perinatal period.
- To provide consultation to the perinatal staff, supporting psychological understanding and formulation of complex mental health presentations.
- To bring clinical leadership to the perinatal hub team, supporting team and operational managers in the delivery of a high quality perinatal mental health service.
Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria- Professional and doctoral training in Clinical/Counselling psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
Desirable criteria- Post qualifying trauma training in evidence based approach e.g EMDR or TF-CBT
KnowledgeEssential criteria- Solid understanding of significant mental health presentations
Desirable criteria- Understanding and awareness of perinatal mental health presentations
ExperienceEssential criteria- Significant experience of working in MDT
Desirable criteria- Good experience of clinical leadership
ExperienceEssential criteria- Solid experience of supervising qualified psychological therapies staff
Desirable criteria- Good experience of consultation with MDT staff
