Even though these posts are not recognised for training by London Deanery, they provide excellent training opportunities. You are expected to keep a training portfolio, to have regular assessments with an allocated educational supervisor and to demonstrate progression in the field of Paediatrics during your tenure.

Education

Essential criteria

• MB BS or Equivalent
• Full medical registration
• MRCPCH or MCEM

Desirable criteria

• BSc

Skills and knowledge

Essential criteria

• Competencies relevant to completion of Foundation training
• Competencies relevant to completion of ST1-3 training (or equivalent)
• Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
• Enthusiasm for teaching, both undergraduate and post-graduate
• Child protection experience/training
• EPLS or APLS
• Competent in full range of paediatric practical skills

Desirable criteria

• Experience of Paediatric sedation in ED
• Paediatric orthopaedic or surgical experience
• PICU or Anaesthetic experience

Experience

Essential criteria

• Completed Foundation training or equivalent
• Previous paediatric experience

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience working at middle grade level
