Job summarySenior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology (ST3+)University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust seeks applicants for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology either for a fellow in training - or for experienced fellows looking for advanced experience in a subject of their choice, based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. The post is offered for a period of 12 months from the date of appointment for the candidate.
Main duties of the jobThese posts will provide the successful applicants with invaluable experience of a high standard, in a regional Children's Hospital with strong teaching and research links.
The post-holders will undertake registrar duties in Paediatric Cardiology at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. He/she will undertake 1:8 on call commitments.
Minimum RequirementsApplicants must possess MB BS or equivalent and have completed at least two years foundation course or equivalent and three years paediatrics experience. Ideally, they should have MRCPCH or equivalent and be able to undertake echocardiography. They must have licence to practice in the UK, with experience in paediatrics, preferably in the UK and preferably in paediatric cardiology. Non-UK graduates must provide written evidence of appropriate knowledge, training, language and experience.

Person SpecificationKnowledge and ExperienceEssential- Previous clinical experience of paediatrics and paediatric cardiology
- Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competences from a UKFPO affiliated Foundation Programme or equivalent by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/ Good Medical Practice
Skills and AbilitiesEssential- All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues by one of the following:
- - That applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English
- - Have achieved the following scores in the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in a single sitting within 24 months at time of application - Overall 7, Speaking 7, Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7.
