Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology (ST3+)

University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust seeks applicants for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Cardiology either for a fellow in training or for experienced fellows looking for advanced experience in a subject of their choice, based at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. The post is offered for a period of 12 months from the date of appointment for the candidate.

Main duties of the job

These posts will provide the successful applicants with invaluable experience of a high standard, in a regional Children's Hospital with strong teaching and research links. The post-holders will undertake registrar duties in Paediatric Cardiology at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and will undertake 1:8 on-call commitments.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
  • Previous clinical experience of paediatrics and paediatric cardiology
  • Full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competences from a UKFPO affiliated Foundation Programme or equivalent by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/ Good Medical Practice
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues by one of the following:
  • - Undertaken undergraduate medical training in English
  • - Achieved the following scores in the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in a single sitting within 24 months at time of application - Overall 7, Speaking 7, Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7.
