Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiology

Job summary

• Competence at level in the management of Cardiac in-patients and outpatients
• Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
• Proficiency in a range of medical procedures (as defined by the core curriculum) as an indication of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

Main duties of the job

• Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate
• Able to prioritise clinical need
• Able to maximise safety and minimise risk
• Skills in the management of patients not requiring hospital admission

Education & professional Qualifications

• Full GMC registration
• MRCP (PACES) or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in general internal medicine at ST1/2 level
• Experience in general internal medicine at ST3 level
• Experience in general Cardiology at ST2 level

Desirable

• Experience in UK Healthcare system
• Experience in general Cardiology at ST3 level

Skills and aptitudes

• Teaching skills and experience
• Understanding of clinical governance and audit procedures

Personal Qualities & attributes

• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
• Motivated, flexible and enthusiastic

• Research experience
