Job Description - Senior Claims Adjuster - Professional Lines

At AXA XL, our Claims team sets us apart. Our experienced Claims professionals use their specialised expertise to handle even the most complex claims seamlessly. You will play a critical role in the Professional Lines team by managing and resolving claims for our customers.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Managing a portfolio of claims up to a pre-determined authority level, engaging proactively with all stakeholders to resolve claims promptly and fairly.
  2. Strict adherence to the Global Claims Handling Practices.
  3. Demonstrating AXA XL behaviours and values.
  4. Ensuring all claims are reserved wherever possible, within the Reserving guidelines.
  5. Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, and other departments.
  6. Ensuring timely communication regarding new claims and notifications, identifying and reporting trends to relevant stakeholders.
  7. Providing superior customer service to policyholders and brokers, maintaining and developing client relationships.
  8. Instructing and controlling surveyors, loss adjusters, solicitors, and experts in claims handling.
  9. Assisting the Claims Manager with implementing strategy within the Claims Team.

Required Skills and Abilities

  1. Knowledge of Professional Indemnity/Financial Lines business claims.
  2. Ability to support Underwriters and discuss claims issues directly with clients/brokers.
  3. Ownership and accountability for the management of assigned claims, overseeing the strategy to resolution.
  4. Delivering prompt, fair, innovative, and accurate claims service.
  5. Familiarity with Lloyd’s and Company Market systems/protocols and use of the ECF market system.
  6. Understanding of legal liability and legal processes.
  7. Ability to operate under tight deadlines in a pressured environment.
  8. Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  9. Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  10. Providing claim handling support to team members.
