About the Role

A specialist rail infrastructure contractor is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team, delivering key railway projects across London and the South East. This role is suited for an experienced civil engineer who is hands-on, proactive, and ready to get stuck into Lineside Civils works.

As a subcontractor working with Tier 1 contractors, we need someone who can lead from the front, providing both site-based expertise and commercial support, including tendering and pricing. Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage lineside civil engineering works on active rail projects.
2. Work hands-on on-site, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.
3. Assist with tendering and pricing, helping to develop cost-effective engineering solutions.
4. Ensure that all works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
5. Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks to uphold safety standards.
6. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
7. Lead on design and constructability assurance, embedding value engineering from the start.
8. Support planning and delivery activities, integrating with wider project teams and supply chains.

What We're Looking For:

1. Strong experience in railway civil engineering, particularly Lineside Civils.
2. A proactive, hands-on attitude - someone who isn't afraid to get involved on-site.
3. Experience working on Tier 1 contractor projects.
4. Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality assurance in rail construction.
5. Experience in tendering, pricing, and commercial aspects of civil engineering projects.
6. A collaborative mindset - ability to work with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
7. Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CSCS, PTS, SMSTS/SSSTS).
