A specialist rail infrastructure contractor is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team, delivering key railway projects across London and the South East. This role is suited for an experienced civil engineer who is hands-on, proactive, and ready to get stuck into Lineside Civils works.

As a subcontractor working with Tier 1 contractors, we need someone who can lead from the front, providing both site-based expertise and commercial support, including tendering and pricing. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage lineside civil engineering works on active rail projects.
• Work hands-on on-site, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.
• Assist with tendering and pricing, helping to develop cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure that all works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and compliance checks to uphold safety standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Lead on design and constructability assurance, embedding value engineering from the start.
• Support planning and delivery activities, integrating with wider project teams and supply chains.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong experience in railway civil engineering, particularly Lineside Civils.
• A proactive, hands-on attitude - someone who isn't afraid to get involved on-site.
• Experience working on Tier 1 contractor projects.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality assurance in rail construction.
• Experience in tendering, pricing, and commercial aspects of civil engineering projects.
• A collaborative mindset - ability to work with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CSCS, PTS, SMSTS/SSSTS preferred).
