Senior Civil Design Engineer

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Design Engineer on a permanent basis, located in London.

As a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer, you will be a key leader responsible for managing and overseeing major water infrastructure projects. You will spearhead the design, delivery, and execution of solutions, ensuring that projects meet regulatory requirements and client expectations. As a senior team member, you will mentor junior staff, foster client relationships, and drive innovation in water and wastewater engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the planning, design, and implementation of projects.
2. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, including adherence to CDM regulations and the Business Management Systems (BMS).
3. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and other team members.
4. Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
5. Lead client engagement, acting as a point of contact and ensuring strong, ongoing client relationships.
6. Promote innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the water sector.
7. Maintain an unwavering focus on health, safety, and sustainability in all project activities.

What We're Looking For:

1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; master's degree preferred.
2. Significant experience in civil engineering design and project management, specifically within the water or wastewater sector.
3. Strong understanding of water engineering principles, hydraulic systems, and infrastructure design.
4. Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
5. Excellent technical expertise in Water Infrastructure, Wastewater Infrastructure & Treatment Works.
6. Proficiency in using relevant software such as Civil 3D and other engineering design programs.
7. In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and industry best practices.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to engage clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
9. Chartered status or working towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM, or similar) is required.
10. A passion for continuous professional development and a drive to innovate in water engineering.
