Senior Childcare Practitioner

Seghill, Cramlington (NE23)
Supporting children aged 7–17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Mild Learning Difficulties

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced and passionate Residential Childcare Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? Your Role
  • Provide high-quality, consistent care and support to children aged 7 to 17

  • Work closely with your team to create a nurturing, safe, and structured environment

  • Support young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs

  • Promote positive routines, independence, and emotional well-being

  • Be a positive role model and help young people thrive

Shift Pattern & Salary
  • Hours: 8am – 8pm shifts

  • Contract Options: 36, 40 or 48 hours per week

  • Sleep-ins: 8–10 per month (as per rota)

  • Hourly Rate: £14.50

  • Sleep-in Rate: £52 per night
    Overtime and additional shifts available

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent recognised Level 3 qualification)

  • Experience working in residential childcare or a related field

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Minimum age: 21 (in line with Ofsted requirements)

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting children with complex emotional needs

  • A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
