Salary: Competitive salary
Car allowance: £4200 or £3700 as cash via payroll each month (£308.33) plus Healthcare, 18% annual bonus potential with 27.5 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days after 10 years service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as a Senior Carbon Analyst. In this position, you'll drive data delivery for Royal Mail's environmental strategy and decarbonisation programmes, lead external data assurance processes, develop internal reporting systems, and provide essential support and analysis across functions and the ESG team.

About the role:

  1. Deliver and analyse all environmental data relating to Royal Mail’s decarbonisation and waste strategies, working closely with Environment strategy workstream heads.
  2. Drive the development of Royal Mail’s internal reporting practices regarding environmental data.
  3. Ensure the delivery of Royal Mail’s year-end reporting cycle to enable the production of the ESG report and other relevant documents.
  4. Engage proactively with top customers, developing meaningful reports and insights.
  5. Support parcel tracking and containerisation initiatives to standardize carbon reporting.
  6. Contribute content and data for key benchmarks and rating submissions.
  7. Promote engagement with stakeholders on environmental strategy and performance matters.
  8. Support the wider ESG team as required.

About You:

  1. 2-3 years of experience in carbon accounting with strong Excel and data analytical skills.
  2. Able to identify and manage significant risks, making effective decisions based on data analysis.
  3. Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders to translate environmental data requirements into actions.
  4. Proactive in approach, dealing confidently with competing demands.
  5. Experience interfacing with senior management, consultants, customers, and contractors.
  6. Experience with external assurance processes is ideal but not required.
  7. Experience collating quarterly and annual environmental data outputs is ideal but not required.
  8. Experience using carbon accounting software platforms is ideal but not required.
  9. Experience in building and maintaining Net-Zero forecasts is ideal but not required.
