Are you an experienced Senior Buyer with a background in sourcing and procuring raw materials within the FMCG sector? We’re looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join a fast-paced manufacturing company and take the lead in securing high-quality ingredients, ensuring the best value while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
What You'll Do:
Raw Material Sourcing: Source, negotiate, and secure raw ingredients from suppliers, ensuring all materials meet quality standards, are competitively priced, and are delivered on time.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, while actively seeking new suppliers to improve the cost-effectiveness and reliability of the supply chain.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations on contracts, ensuring favourable terms for price, delivery, and quality, while managing supplier performance to meet business requirements.
Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed about trends, pricing, and risks in raw material sourcing, ensuring the business stays competitive.
Cost Optimisation: Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation within the purchasing process.
Stock Management: Work closely with the supply chain and production teams to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained, avoiding shortages and delays.
Compliance: Ensure all purchased materials meet regulatory and quality standards, maintaining clear documentation and traceability.
Reporting: Provide regular reports to the Purchasing Manager on performance, market conditions, and supplier performance.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within the FMCG sector, with a strong focus on raw ingredients sourcing.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
A good understanding of market trends and the factors that influence raw material pricing.
Commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
Strong IT skills, with experience using purchasing software and Excel for reporting and analysis.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
