Are you an experienced Senior Buyer with a background in sourcing and procuring raw materials within the FMCG sector? We’re looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join a fast-paced manufacturing company and take the lead in securing high-quality ingredients, ensuring the best value while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

What You'll Do:

• Raw Material Sourcing: Source, negotiate, and secure raw ingredients from suppliers, ensuring all materials meet quality standards, are competitively priced, and are delivered on time.
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, while actively seeking new suppliers to improve the cost-effectiveness and reliability of the supply chain.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations on contracts, ensuring favourable terms for price, delivery, and quality, while managing supplier performance to meet business requirements.
• Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed about trends, pricing, and risks in raw material sourcing, ensuring the business stays competitive.
• Cost Optimisation: Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation within the purchasing process.
• Stock Management: Work closely with the supply chain and production teams to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained, avoiding shortages and delays.
• Compliance: Ensure all purchased materials meet regulatory and quality standards, maintaining clear documentation and traceability.
• Reporting: Provide regular reports to the Purchasing Manager on performance, market conditions, and supplier performance.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within the FMCG sector, with a strong focus on raw ingredients sourcing.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
• A good understanding of market trends and the factors that influence raw material pricing.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
• Strong IT skills, with experience using purchasing software and Excel for reporting and analysis.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
