Senior Buyer - Indirect/Logistics/Materials

Job Description

Agratas is currently looking for a Indirect Category Buyer - Logistics & Materials to join our growing Indirect Procurement team and help build our new battery factory. This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Coventry office.

You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing a variety of indirect materials and services necessary to support business operations. This includes dies and molds, small tools, HSE items, contracts negotiation with export-import logistic providers, CHAs, 3PL providers, local transporters, and other indirect goods and services that contribute to the overall efficiency of the company.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and production, to ensure materials are sourced cost-effectively and in alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for indirect purchasing of Capex/Opex indirect goods and services for an OEM.
• Manage the sourcing portfolio ensuring transparency of awarding.
• Lead and manage the RFI, RFQ, cost comparison, zero-based costing, negotiation & awarding process.
• Establish beneficial working relationships with various internal groups across the organization including various programs, regional/country offices, legal, finance, and others.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, product quality, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure optimal value for the organization.
• Negotiate and execute contracts for dies and molds, consumables, small tools, HSE items, etc.
• Negotiate and execute contracts for export-import logistics providers, 3PLs, employee transportation, canteen/food supply, scrap disposal, office/site rents.
• Stay updated on market trends, new suppliers, and innovations in indirect materials. Proactively research and recommend alternative suppliers or products to optimize cost and performance.
• Prepare and propose cost reduction strategies and category plans to Procurement Lead.
• Proactively identify risks and create contingency plans to mitigate risks in the supply chain to avoid potential disruption in operations.

Experience

• Proven work experience in indirect sourcing, mainly in OPEX function for automobile/tech company for greenfield or brownfield projects.
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
• Broad knowledge about contract finalization.
• Knowledge about legal terms.
• Strong project management skills.
• Price trends of pipes, valves, fittings from major OEMs.
• Experience with zero-based costing for fabrication items.
• Solid judgment with the ability to make good decisions.
• Capable of managing self-activity planning and sorting priorities as per deadlines and working without supervision.

Desired

• Bachelor's Degree – Specialization in Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, SAP, Ariba.
