Role:
Communicate with suppliers with proactive negotiation & relationship building.
Development and implementation of procurement policies to support the tendering process, spend analytics, and supplier performance management.
Optimise and develop the existing supply chain to achieve high performance through long-term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service, and product quality.
Improve credit terms & get additional credit on large orders to achieve higher creditor days.
Negotiate new and improved rebates to maximise spending power.
Work closely with the commercial team on the resolution of disputes related to projects.
Produce levelling documents between various wholesalers and tender information to ensure and demonstrate value for money.
Complete internal authorisation documents prior to order placement that will be reviewed and signed off at Director level.
Utilise the COINS software for order placement via site requisitions.
Track GRNs, on-hold invoices, and invoices in dispute to ensure that payment terms for invoices are met and queries have been logged correctly.
Person & Skills Required:
A minimum of 3 years’ purchasing/procurement experience within the electrical wholesale industry or with a similarly sized electrical contracting business.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
A collaborative approach with the ability to prioritise and delegate where necessary.
COINS experience would be preferred, but training will be provided.
A high level of competency on Microsoft platforms, particularly Excel.
