Senior Buyer

A specialist automotive/motorsport manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Senior Buyer to work from their Leicestershire headquarters. You will take responsibility for a particular category and selection of suppliers to ensure that high-quality parts and components are delivered OTIF to enable Production targets to be met.

As the Senior Buyer you will support the Purchasing team in:

1. Supporting the company's growth by enabling profit through effective sourcing.
2. Reducing supplier lead time whilst ensuring they maintain the high standards expected.
3. Delivering a strategy for your category to ensure that both general production and new model manufacturing can be fulfilled.
4. Identifying cost saving opportunities within your specific category.

To be successful as a Senior Buyer you will have:

1. Previous experience as a Category Buyer, Senior Buyer, or Project Buyer within a manufacturing business, ideally within the automotive industry.
2. Experience in New Product Introduction.
3. Proven negotiation skills and an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
4. Far East sourcing experience.
5. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
6. Ability to work under pressure.
7. Experience in purchasing a range of materials, components, and parts.
8. Worked with a range of MER/ERP systems.
