Job title: Senior Buyer

Location: Warwick/Hybrid

Duration: 6 months initially

The role:

This position requires significant experience in leading complex procurement projects, including tenders and contract management, across various categories. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, the ability to develop and execute category strategies, and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multi-functional team. This role also involves managing direct reports and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead, develop and implement effective sourcing strategies ensuring goods/services are procured in a best-in-class manner that drives value for money.
2. Lead and develop complex regulated compliant procurement events.
3. Develop an expert knowledge of your supplier marketplace within assigned categories to ensure credibility with internal stakeholders.
4. Develop and maintain effective relationships with various internal stakeholders.
5. Lead and support your direct reports, striving to help them achieve their full potential as well as supporting their development needs.
6. Lead contract management activities identifying continuous improvement opportunities through engagement with suppliers and stakeholders and driving efficiencies and benefits for contracts.
7. Leading complex commercial negotiations for both new requirements and contract renewals.

Requirements:

1. Expertise in category management and strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing process.
2. Experience in leading on all aspects of the procurement process such as tender drafting, issuing tenders, negotiations, evaluation, and contract award.
3. Demonstrable experience in managing contracts to drive effective supplier performance through management of KPIs/SLAs.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Excellent organization skills in terms of time-management and workload as well as strong project management experience.
6. Proficient with MS Office, in particular MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
7. Proactive in driving projects and reporting updates to all stakeholders and senior leadership team.
8. MCIPS qualified or degree level education or equivalent or willing to work towards achieving MCIPS (Not Mandatory).
9. Understanding of Procurement legislation is desirable.
