Salary: £65,000 - £67,500 per annum

The Role

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and services for our care home construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for construction materials and subcontract services
2. Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to drive best value and quality
3. Work closely with project teams to forecast material requirements and mitigate supply chain risks
4. Monitor budgets, contracts, and supplier performance, ensuring compliance with company policies
5. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
6. Stay up to date with market trends, legislation, and sustainability initiatives in construction procurement

What We're Looking For

1. Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager within the construction industry
2. Strong knowledge of materials procurement, supplier negotiation, and contract management
3. Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, project managers, and stakeholders
4. Excellent commercial awareness and cost control skills
5. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
6. CIPS qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
