Senior Buyer

Job Purpose:

To administrate all aspects of material supply (raising of forecasts, purchase orders, expediting / deferrals, updating prices/MOQs/trigger levels, communicating supply issues internally). Work with suppliers regarding consignment stock control. Identify and implement improvements to purchasing and inventory control.

• Effective selection/management of suppliers.
• Optimisation of purchase prices and delivery costs.
• Efficient procurement of parts and materials.
• Efficient receipt, storage and internal distribution of materials to manufacturing.
• Accurate control of stock records.
• Optimisation of stock levels.
• Maximise VMI options, across multiple commodity groups.

• Excellent knowledge of effective stock control systems.
• Good knowledge of company ISO9001 Quality procedures.
• Good knowledge of company ISO45001 H&S procedures.
• Good knowledge of company HR procedures (employee handbook).
• Customer and Quality Awareness.
• Good knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Previous experience gained in an Electronics/Engineering function.
