Temporary Senior Business Support Admin Officer (Debt Recovery)

This role will be a mix of office and home working, subject to agreement with the manager. This will not suit someone who isn't local to Bristol and who is unable to get into the office regularly.

Skills & Experience required:

  1. Relevant level 3 qualification e.g. NVQ level 3, BTEC, relevant A levels etc. and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and understanding through experience.
  2. Understanding of relevant debt recovery laws
  3. Familiarity with debt/financial software.
  4. Experience in debt recovery, preferably in a local government setting.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

What's involved with this role:

Under direction from the manager, you will help coordinate a complex area covering debt recovery, taking ownership and responsibility for the end-to-end processes. You will identify and pursue debtors through various means including phone calls, emails and letters. You will also make real-time service decisions in response to operational issues in line with local procedures and established guidance.

Key duties:

  1. Coordinate and take ownership of complex administrative and business support processes, acting as the Subject Matter Expert in debt recovery.
  2. Make real-time service decisions in response to operational issues, following local procedures and established guidance.
  3. Provide expert business support advice within the specialist area of debt recovery.
  4. Plan and deploy resources efficiently to optimize business support services, handling day-to-day operational issues as directed by the Team Leader.
  5. Respond to internal and external inquiries, resolve escalated issues, and provide information, data, and advice on complex matters, including monitoring and reconciling financial transactions.
