Job SummaryThe business data analyst is part of a highly successful team working within the HRA digital directorate, responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting complex solutions within the HRA's portfolio of national information systems for health research. This includes the Research Systems programme, a major programme to build a new integrated research application and workflow system and to achieve the successful migration and eventual closure of current systems (IRAS and HARP).
As a business data analyst, you will use the data analysis process to understand, interpret, and predict patterns in business, and then use those data-driven insights to enhance the business requirements and practices.
Main duties of the job- Make sure that all data structures are analysed, documented, and aligned with business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and data architects to understand data needs and translate them into requirements.
- Own the main stakeholder relationships related to your discipline.
- Analyse, understand, and define a data problem or opportunity.
- Undertake research and analysis to understand how a business area works, considering the people, organisation, processes, information, data, and technology.
- Identify areas for improvement, explore feasible options, and define data-driven ways of implementing business solutions.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with industry standards.
- Facilitate the alignment of data models with business process requirements.

Person SpecificationQualifications Essential- Professional qualification at master's level in an information related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
