About Us

We're MI6, also known as the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS). Our mission is to protect the security and economic wellbeing of the UK from overseas threats such as regional instability, terrorism, and cyber-attacks. Working across the globe and in close partnership with MI5 and GCHQ, we help the Government to counter these threats through the provision of secret intelligence. The Role

In this role you'll work across MI6, and UKIC (UK Intelligence Community) navigating complex and rapid change. You'll shape our transformation by translating business strategy into clear change strategies and plans. Collaborating and working with service leaders and either joining or leading multidisciplinary teams, you'll identify, change and transformation needs, deliver outcomes, and achieve strategic benefits, ensuring that people and organisational impacts are central to our change and transformation efforts.

As a Senior Business Change Manager, you'll partner with areas of the business undergoing rapid and long-term change. You'll translate organisational and business area strategies into strategic and business change outcomes and deliverables, ensuring we understand the people and organisational implications that will make the change successful, long lasting and coherent.

You'll support leaders to anticipate, assess and plan for change, applying a range of techniques to design, shape and embed change which addresses the true business needs and delivers tangible benefits. Considering locally initiated, enterprise-level, and portfolio-level changes, you'll use your professional business knowledge to work within, and sometimes lead, multi-discipline change teams. You'll plan, deliver, embed, and evaluate various changes across the business whilst evolving the framework through which leadership and management of change is continuously improved.

Importantly, Senior Business Change Managers will work collegially and collectively with service leaders, key business stakeholders, and the broader Organisational Change professionals. Through these collaborations you'll systemise and professionalise change across the Service, and jointly develop approaches to achieve shared objectives.

Through partnering you'll build change capability within the business area enabling others to understand, value and do change well, shifting mindsets to be open to change and able to respond to increasing amounts of change.

• Acts as the conscience for change in the business area
• Coaches and mentors service leaders to become informed and effective agents of change
• Establishes and manages mechanisms to measure and assure quality

About You

As a Senior Business change manager, you'll excel in change management, demonstrating effective strategies across various environments, from strategic to enterprise levels. You'll likely hold a professional qualification in change management or have equivalent experience.

You'll be a skilled people manager, leading and delivering through others, including blended staff and contractor teams. An effective communicator and facilitator, capable of coaching, mentoring, and influencing both colleagues and senior leaders.

You'll have a deep understanding of change theory and practice, and you'll be comfortable using a variety of tools, techniques, and approaches to navigate ambiguity and complexity.

You'll have experience in various roles such as Senior Change Manager, Lead Change Manager, or Head of Change Management. With a customer and outcome-orientated mindset, you'll build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organization. You'll partner collaborate, and influence at the director level to design, plan and implement change.

When you join us, you'll have a full induction into the organisation, which will help you get to grips with how we operate. You'll then have a team induction to give you a rounded understanding of business change, followed by on-the-job training to help you settle in.

Rewards and Benefits

You'll receive a starting salary for a Senior Change Business of £69,043 to £74,216, dependent on skills and experience, plus the opportunity to qualify for a skills payment of £5,128.

What to Expect

Our recruitment process is fair, transparent, and based on merit. Here is a brief overview of each stage, in order:
