Senior Building Surveyor
Horsham Office (West Sussex) and London (Field Based)
£60k per annum – Negotiable (dependant on experience)

Experience/Qualifications
- MRICS Qualified or close.
- A Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Leadership and management of individuals and teams.
- Good understanding of building pathology and can demonstrate such.
- Ability to read and comment on floor plans, elevations and sections.
- Preferable (but not essential) to have experience with CAD.
- Ability to read leases is essential and have a broad understanding of Property Law.
- Present themselves well to colleagues, clients, residents and occupiers.
- Display good professional communication skills including verbally and written.
- Structure ideas and methods of repairs/works concisely and clearly verbally and in written form.
- Manage their workload and show good timekeeping and punctuality.
- Good IT skills; an effective leader who is competent in delegation, communication, and organisation.
- Line management of building surveying team.
- Oversee the training and respective development plans to ensure staff achieve their potential and that all necessary skills are included.
Job Role:
You can expect to be working on the following:
- Party Wall matters.
- Recording schedules of condition.
- Defect investigation and reporting.
- Planning and design.
- Conducting site inspections and provision of reports and/or notes.
- Meeting with contractors to discuss projects of various types, including contract administration duties and project co-ordination.
- Prepare specifications/schedules of works of various sizes and types.
- Advise on Dilapidations including preparation, service, and negotiation.
- Deal with the licence to alter process for several Landed Estates.
- Carry out measured surveys and take accurate notes.

The position provides excellent exposure to the building surveying industry working with in-house teams, property owners, industry colleagues and a range of service providers including acousticians, solicitors, mechanical and electrical consultants, public health, and structural engineers.
Package:
- Full time – Monday to Friday. 09.00am to 17.30pm. No weekend work.
