Job description

Due to continued growth, our client (a leading, national telecommunications network cabling company) is seeking an experienced Senior Bid Writer to join their dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to shape and develop high-quality bid submissions while driving continuous improvement within their dynamic organisation.

About the Role

As a Senior Bid Writer, you will work closely with the bid leadership team to set standards, oversee, and actively contribute to the completion of the quality submission process. You will play a pivotal role from initial storyboarding through to final submission, ensuring best practices in authoring while enhancing efficiencies across the bid process. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the bid writing process, ensuring clarity, compliance, and high-quality responses.
  2. Develop, review, and refine written submissions, ensuring they align with client requirements and company standards.
  3. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract key information and craft compelling narratives, rather than relying on SMEs to draft content.
  4. Implement structured bid methodologies ensuring best practices are maintained.
  5. Conduct storyboarding, pink & red reviews, and final quality assurance to maximise bid success.
  6. Drive continuous improvement, identifying areas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in bid development.
  7. Engage with internal stakeholders and clients, demonstrating excellent communication skills across all forums, from one-to-one discussions to larger group workshops.
  8. Ensure customer focus by striving for excellence, understanding, and anticipating client needs.
Key Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience in bid writing, with a track record of successfully delivering high-quality submissions.
  2. Strong knowledge of structured bid processes.
  3. Experience in telecomms or network cabling-related bids is highly desirable.
  4. Ability to write responses from scratch, ensuring clarity and impact.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams.
  6. A proactive approach, with integrity and a commitment to doing the right thing.
