We are looking for a very talented and dedicated Senior Backend QA Engineer to help us build out a world-beating feature set. Joining our engineering team, you’ll be responsible for testing new front-end, rest-api backend features and microservices both manually and by automation; as required and identified at the planning sessions to help us continue to deliver a great product to our customers which helps our company and their money grow.

What you can expect to be doing:

  • Working within a dedicated team of highly experienced backend and frontend developers.
  • Creating Test Automation Feasibility Review, Test Automation Approach, Test Automation Plan, Test Automation Strategy.
  • Continuously liaising and collaborating with developers and other specialists within and outside your team to ensure requirement clarity and quality-first mindset.
  • Driving quality from start - being involved in the user story definition process and writing test scenarios upfront.
  • Bringing a QA perspective to planning sessions and ensuring test effort is taken into consideration.
  • Writing and leading API automation within the squad.
  • Leading performance testing using K6.
  • Estimate the testing required, reporting status and issues within your team using the system in place.
  • Integrate test automation and generate reportings from the CI tooling after automated test executions for visibility.
  • Sharing your knowledge of the latest test automation technologies and best practices.
  • Design, build, implement, improve and continually maintain automated testing frameworks.
  • Understanding and gaining experience within the cloud/AWS and opportunities that bring in.
  • Configuring test environments for manual testing and automation using terraform, kubernetes and helm.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant QA/testing and test automation experience.
  • Excellent programming skills in Javascript/Typescript or any object-oriented language.
  • Proven track record of testing and automating microservices.
  • Experience with performance testing (e.g. knowledge of K6 is a plus).
  • Proficient in version control system (e.g. Git).
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining test frameworks and scripts.
  • Experience in integrating automation tests with any CI/CD system.
  • Experience in creating and implementing test automation strategies, tools and techniques (unit, functional, integration).
  • Strong knowledge of mocking test dependencies and debugging test failures.
  • Strong grasp on SDLC and STLC with a DevOps approach.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices and Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to switch context effectively between feature validation, automation, manual testing, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of kubernetes, helm, terraform or other container management and IAC solutions is a plus.

  3. Video interview with the Head of QA.
  4. Final interview with VP of Product & Engineering Manager.
