The role

The Senior AV Technician will be responsible for managing and coordinating all audio-visual requirements for the organization. This includes setting up and operating AV equipment for events, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing technical support to staff and clients. Travers Smith are a leading Law firm in the AV space, with an impending move to a new building. TS are currently evaluating many cutting-edge AV technologies to push the firm as far forward for the move as possible. This role will be an exciting opportunity to explore new tech on the market and see it come to life in a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the setup and operation of AV equipment for live events, conferences, and meetings.
  2. Coordinate with event planners and stakeholders to understand AV requirements and provide solutions.
  3. Manage inventory and maintenance of AV equipment.
  4. Train and supervise junior AV staff and technicians.
  5. Stay up to date with the latest AV technology and trends.
  6. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AV-related issues.
  7. Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate AV systems with organizational infrastructure.

Technical Skills

  1. Operating Epiphan Pearl.
  2. Managing Live events and Townhalls on Microsoft Teams.
  3. Microsoft 700 training.
  4. Editing content in Adobe Premier.
  5. Confident using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  6. Microsoft Teams room and connecting components experience.

  1. Director of Central Technology.
  2. IT & AV Project Lead.
  3. Tech Support Manager.

Personal Specification Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  1. Proven experience as an AV technician or similar role (3-5 years).
  2. Strong knowledge of AV equipment and software.
  3. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Relevant certifications in AV technology would be an advantage.
