Senior Associate - SSA Syndicate

HSBC's London based SSA Syndicate desk is an award-winning, best in class and market-leading franchise.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Associate on our SSA Syndicate desk.

We are looking for a replacement hire at Senior Associate to join the Syndicate team. Responsibilities will be advising global clients on new issuance across EUR, GBP, and USD. The SSA Syndicate desk is one of the four pillars of the DCM business, with the three others being Corporates, Financials & Emerging markets.

The successful candidate's main duties will involve:

1. Active Issuer coverage to understand financing needs, market access, timing, execution strategy, and asset class selection.
2. Pricing & relative value positioning of a multitude of securities, transactions across currencies, including an understanding of complex market dynamics, including the swap market.
3. Executing new transactions in conjunction with HSBC's global sales and trading platform.
4. Working closely with origination & structuring teams within DCM.
5. Supporting the team head and other sectors in busy periods to maintain a market-leading franchise.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. DCM Experience preferable.
2. Syndicate or deal execution experience preferable.
3. Experience in origination preferable.
4. Understanding of the market and risk dynamics.
5. European language skills a plus.
6. Appetite for growth in role.
7. Understanding of fixed income markets.
8. Strong analytical skills.
