Senior Associate, Corporate & Commercial

Our client is seeking a Senior Associate with at least five years of post-qualification experience to join its Corporate & Commercial team. This permanent role involves advising local and international clients, including private individuals, institutions, and professional intermediaries. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of matters, including corporate and commercial law, banking and finance transactions, and trust law advice.

Job Duties:

1. Manage files and transactions, resolving issues as they arise.
2. Identify key legal and commercial issues proactively.
3. Work collaboratively within the team and support partners as required.
4. Provide clear, technically accurate legal advice to clients.
5. Demonstrate commercial awareness relevant to clients' objectives.
6. Adhere to the firm's procedures, including anti-money laundering regulations and time-recording requirements.
7. Communicate effectively with clients regarding scope, costs, progress, and any emerging issues.
8. Manage multiple workstreams for various clients.
9. Maintain and develop existing client relationships.
10. Participate in business development activities both individually and with colleagues.
11. Mentor and supervise junior team members when required.

Job Requirements:

1. Qualified lawyer with up to seven years of post-qualification experience.
2. Experience in corporate and/or commercial law and/or banking and finance.
3. Knowledge of trust law in relation to Jersey-administered trust and corporate structures or high-net-worth private clients is advantageous.
4. Strong technical legal skills and commercial awareness.
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
6. A proactive and client-focused approach.
