You will lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions that align with our long-term sustainability goals, playing a crucial role in our PR24 Business Plan and broader delivery strategy. By collaborating closely with diverse teams across the organization, you’ll help us build resilience against climate risks, ensuring we continue to provide safe, high-quality drinking water to our customers for years to come.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess climate-related risks (e.g., flooding, droughts, extreme weather) to operations, assets, and water resources.
• Use scenario modelling and climate data to evaluate long-term impacts on asset resilience, water availability, and service delivery.
• Develop and implement adaptation strategies to enhance climate resilience, ensuring alignment with UK Climate Projections (UKCP) and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement a structured transition plan to align the business with a low-carbon, climate-resilient model.
• Collaborate with internal teams to embed climate and transition planning into decision-making.
• Develop and deliver reports on climate risk assessments, adaptation actions, mitigation efforts, and transition progress.

Key requirements:

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
• Policy and technical knowledge in climate change adaptation and mitigation
• Ability to summarise technical information and effectively support briefing of senior leaders to support decision making.
• Experience of strategy development and implementation.
• Experienced in influencing and managing relationships (and managing stakeholder engagement).
