Senior Architect Job in Putney, London

Senior Architect job now available! This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded, close-knit practice known for delivering bespoke high-end residential projects across some of London’s prime areas, including Kensington, Chelsea, and Belgravia. Our client values a collaborative studio environment where architects are involved in every stage of the project, from concept to completion, and work closely together to create beautifully crafted homes.

The portfolio includes notable projects such as the renovation of Grade II listed properties, bespoke townhouse transformations, and contemporary new builds in conservation areas. Current projects include a £3.3M extension and renovation in Westminster, where you will be involved in the detailed design stage and the technical delivery.

This is a full-time, permanent role for a Senior Architect with strong project-running skills and a passion for high-end design.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage high-end residential projects, including luxury refurbishments, extensions, and new builds, from concept to completion.
  2. Act as the main client contact, overseeing relationships and expectations at all project stages.
  3. Work on detailed design, technical detailing, and project delivery, ensuring that all projects meet the highest industry and client standards.
  4. Mentor and manage junior architects, providing support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progression and flawless execution.
  6. Engage in both classical and contemporary design work.
  7. Oversee project budgets, internal staffing costs, and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial parameters.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. Minimum of 8 years post-Part 3 UK architectural experience, with a focus on high-end residential projects.
  2. Proven track record of running complex refurbishments and new builds, particularly in London’s prime locations.
  3. Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential); experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, and other design software is highly desirable.
  4. Strong design and technical skills with experience in both classical and modern architecture, including listed buildings and conservation areas.
  5. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects and maintain client relationships.
  6. Thorough understanding of UK building regulations, construction detailing, and statutory requirements.
  7. Exceptional communication skills, fluent in English (both written and verbal).
