Brief

Senior Architect needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Grimsby who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Senior Architect that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of procurement and best value principles.

The successful candidate must have experience and qualifications in AutoCAD 2D software as well as working knowledge and understanding of JCT and NEC contract selection, contract drafting and administration.

What the role entails:

• Management of construction professionals
• Financial forecasting/budgeting for the team, including development of estimations, project accounts, valuations, and pricing of designs to support building construction projects.
• Development of technical design solutions aligned to best design and construction practice and Building Regulations. Providing design and technical support to building construction projects, including site visits and the development of specifications and detail design drawings using AutoCAD/2D and ideally Revit 3D packages.
• Providing procurement technical advice and guidance on building construction projects, particularly regarding Terms and Conditions (e.g., JCT and NEC). All technical information provided must be accurate to legislative standards, ACoPs, and best practice.
• Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation. Direct and monitor construction works, including contract administration, variations, project costs, and final accounts as appropriate, and assist in evaluating and determining appropriate actions when problems occur, reporting these to the client.
• Contract management - Management of construction schemes and the relationship with the Principal Contractor, ensuring that the team issues Additional Instructions, Practical Completion, and Completion certificates throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legislative, contractual, and workmanship requirements. This also includes briefing and commissioning all consultants and clients.

What experience you need to be the successful Senior Architect:

• Working knowledge and understanding of procurement and best value principles
• Working knowledge and understanding of JCT and NEC contract selection, contract drafting, and administration.
• Experience and qualification in AutoCAD 2D software.
• Ideally, experience and qualification in AutoDesk Revit software.
• IT skills and experience of working with database systems are essential.
• Detailed understanding of relevant legislation and regulations is essential.
• Experience of undertaking design and specification in refurbishment and new build construction projects.
• Experience of preparing and submitting Building Regulations and Planning applications is essential.
• Experience of applying CDM Regulations 2015 is essential.
• A full driving license because many jobs involve travel between several sites.
