The opportunity has arisen for a Senior Application Specialist to join Northumbria Healthcare's Digital Services Application Management Implementation Team.

The role is permanent and based out of our offices at the Manufacturing and Innovation Hub in Seaton Delaval.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Application Management Implementation Team, you will be responsible for carrying out the support and maintenance for the Trusts' clinical IT systems. As part of this, you will aid in the configuration and development of these systems, ensuring the clinical and technical needs of both the applications and Trust staff are taken into account.

The successful candidate will have recent and comprehensive experience of supporting clinical systems and their use in a healthcare environment.

Job responsibilities

• Support the efficient administration of clinical applications throughout the Trust.
• Lead in the implementation of new clinical applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Service Desk tickets in a timely manner and in line with Trust policies.
• Help ensure high availability, security, and usability of clinical applications.
• Maintain procedures and documentation of Applications under the control of the service.
• Monitor applications and implement fixes as required.
• Participate in the departmental on-call rota.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge across a range of project management procedures and techniques underpinned by theory. Knowledge of specific areas, acquired through degree or equivalent experience or training, plus further staff and project management knowledge to post-graduate diploma level equivalent.
• Significant experience in supporting critical clinical or business systems.
• NVQ L5 in management.

Experience

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows.
• Experience of IT technologies.
• Experience of working in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
• Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques, and methods.
