Senior Analytical Chemist

Job Description

CK Group is recruiting for a Senior Analytical Chemist based in Leamington Spa on a full-time permanent role. This role will provide quality control support to the manufacturing process using analytical techniques.

The Company:
Our client is a leading recycling specialist company offering their service to polymer industries.

Location:
The site is based in Leamington Spa and is commutable from Northampton, Lutterworth, Rushden, Rugby, Coventry, and Birmingham.

Your duties and responsibilities will involve:

• Supervise analytical chemists.
• Routine operation of GC-MS, GC-FID, and XRF instruments.
• Conduct extractions and standard wet chemistry tests.
• Complete all documentation to UKAS and internal standards.
• Assist in R&D activities.
• Contribute to all laboratory health and safety requirements.
• Help maintain and improve the lab internal quality systems.

Your Background:

• Degree in chemistry or a closely related subject is required.
• Higher qualifications, particularly analytical chemistry related, would be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience of GC-MS is required.
• Analytical experience in a commercial setting is essential, preferably exceeding 5 years.
• Experience working to ISO17025 is expected.
• Experience with UKAS auditing would be useful, especially if the candidate was involved in corrective actions.
• Experience related to polymers, particularly Polypropylene, would be an advantage.
