Job description

Eurasia Group is the world's leading global research and advisory firm. We help clients understand, anticipate, and respond to instability and opportunities everywhere they do business.

Together with GZERO Media—the go-to source of first insight into geopolitics—and our full-fledged events team, the Eurasia Group umbrella provides a complete political risk solution.

Headquartered in New York, we have offices in Washington, London, São Paulo, Brasilia, Tokyo, Singapore, and San Francisco, as well as on-the-ground experts in more than a hundred countries in every region of the world.

We are committed to analysis that is free of political bias and the influence of private interests.

Eurasia Group is seeking a Senior Analyst, Trade and Supply Chains, to join our esteemed Trade and Supply Chain team in London (or Washington DC). The ideal candidate will possess 6-9 years of experience with a significant focus on transatlantic trade, export control coordination, and European trade negotiations. This role requires a motivated self-starter with a strong understanding of global trade policy, especially pertaining to Europe's trade relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the deputy co-manager of the Trade and Supply Chain team, assisting in team leadership and management.
  2. Conduct in-depth analysis and provide insightful client briefings on transatlantic trade and international export controls.
  3. Engage in strategic coordination of European trade negotiations and address human rights and environmental impacts within supply chains.
  4. Monitor and analyze Europe’s trade dynamics, particularly the relationships with China and European-based partners.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams, including Europe, China, US, Geoeconomics, and other specialist groups, to maintain a comprehensive view of global trade policy developments.
  6. Serve as a principal client point of contact for European-based clients, providing expert guidance and insights on trade research.
  7. Develop and present written content on trade topics, ensuring high-quality analysis and reporting.
  8. Provide substitute coverage for the Practice Head, Jon Lang, in meetings as necessary.
  9. Engage proactively in client-facing settings, enhancing relationships with corporate clients across a broad range of sectors, including technology, environmental, and energy.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  1. 6-9 years of experience in international trade analysis, preferably in a client-facing setting like think tanks or advisory roles.
  2. Proven track record in transatlantic trade policy analysis and export control coordination.
  3. Experience with European trade negotiations and awareness of Europe’s strategic trade relationships, notably with China.
  4. Demonstrable interest and understanding of human rights and environmental considerations in supply chains.
  5. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to engage hands-on in various tasks.
  6. Strong writing skills and the ability to produce high-quality analyses and briefings.
  7. A JD in trade law is an advantage but not essential; relevant experience is prioritized.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom or the United States.

The pay range for this role is: 90,000 - 135,000 USD per year (Washington DC).
