Senior Administrator/PA- Older adult psychology service

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 6 MONTHS Due to funding

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Administrator/PA to join the older adult psychology service to be based in Park Offices, Newtown. This is a fixed term post for six months working 22.5 hours per week, with hours and working patterns open to discussion and negotiation. There is the expectation the postholder will travel to Brecon to attend service meetings when required.

You will work closely with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Head of Specialty to support the delivery of older adult psychology services across Powys. You will be responsible for providing and co-ordinating a comprehensive, confidential, and high quality secretarial and administrative service in addition to providing PA support to the Consultant. The team consists of qualified psychologists, assistants, and trainee psychologists on placement. You also will be part of the wider psychology administration teams and will have close links with the older adult services across Powys.

Main duties of the job

With regards to key skills and attributes, you will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work autonomously when required. A willingness to work in a flexible way, and a commitment to supporting service users is essential along with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of Health Professionals.

In addition to this you will be required to demonstrate excellent computer and data management skills.

Main administrative duties will include supporting the consultant within the service, organising meetings, taking minutes, management and organisation of task priorities. The role will also include dealing with patient queries and calls, organising appointments, typing letters/reports, managing diaries and various other tasks to support the team and administration of the service.

Person Specification
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of experience together with a high level of numeracy, written and spoken English plus;
  • Advanced Keyboard Skills (e.g. RSA level III)
  • Good standard of general education
  • Demonstrable proven experience of working as a PA or equivalent.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records
  • Experience of working autonomously
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Awareness of policies and procedures relating to dealing with confidential data both personal and organisational
